Allows state or local law enforcement agencies to authorize appointees to hold up to two additional appointive offices concurrently with another agency, exceeding the standard single concurrent office limit under G.S. 128-1.1(a).

Adds new subsection (a1) to G.S. 128-1.1 permitting law enforcement agencies discretionary authority to authorize multiple concurrent appointments for their personnel.

Clarifies that police chiefs, officers, and auxiliary police positions may be held concurrently with other appointive offices consistent with the new G.S. 128-1.1 standards and the North Carolina Constitution Article VI, Section 9.

Makes conforming changes to G.S. 160A-284 to align municipal police office provisions with the amended dual-office holding requirements.

Effective upon enactment.
