Senate Bill 30 - Value Student Learning Act

• Changes the weighting of school performance grades by reducing the achievement score weight from 80% to 40% and increasing the growth score weight from 20% to 60%

• Allows schools that have met expected growth but would receive a lower performance grade due to the growth score to choose using only the achievement score for their grade calculation

• Applies new weighting methodology to all schools' performance scores, which are converted to a 100-point scale for letter grade assignment (A through F)

• Effective upon becoming law
