Prohibits health insurers from charging higher co-payments for chiropractic services than for comparable medically necessary treatment provided by a primary care physician.

Applies to health benefit plans, subscriber contracts, and policies issued by health maintenance organizations, hospital or medical service corporations, and insurers governed by Articles 1-67 of Chapter 58.

Requires that any limitations on chiropractic treatment coverage must be comparable to limitations imposed on treatment by other duly licensed physicians.

Becomes effective January 1, 2016, and applies to health benefit contracts issued, renewed, or amended on or after that date.
