NC S333

Renames the annual state board of education report from "Duty to Monitor Decisions of Teachers to Leave the Teaching Profession" to "State of the Teaching Profession in North Carolina."

Requires the annual report to include data on teacher transitions including: number leaving the profession, those moving to other states, those moving to other NC schools/charter schools, those moving to non-classroom educational positions, and those leaving hard-to-staff schools and subject areas.

Mandates disaggregation of teacher transition data by teacher effectiveness status at the statewide level only, with prohibition on disaggregating effectiveness data at the local school administrative unit level to protect confidentiality.

Requires local school boards to provide North Carolina Educator Evaluation System (NCEES) effectiveness status information to the State Board for the report while protecting against personally identifiable information in personnel files.

Effective upon enactment, with first application to the 2016-2017 school year data in the 2017 annual report.
