Amends G.S. 115C-301 to require the State Board of Education to allot additional classroom teachers to geographically isolated K-12 schools when consolidation is not feasible.

Schools qualify for additional teachers if located in a local school administrative unit with average daily membership less than 1.5 per square mile, or in a county containing more than 150,000 acres of National Forest managed by the U.S. Forest Service.

Allots one additional classroom teacher per grade level to qualifying geographically isolated schools, while remaining schools in the administrative unit use the regular teacher allotment formula.

Appropriates $1,527,006 for fiscal year 2015-2016 and $1,527,006 for fiscal year 2016-2017 to the Department of Public Instruction to implement the provisions.

Effective July 1, 2015.
