Removes statewide restrictions on school opening and closing dates for the Guilford County Board of Education, allowing local discretion in setting calendar dates.

Eliminates the requirement that opening dates be no earlier than the Monday closest to August 26 and closing dates be no later than the Friday closest to June 11 for Guilford County schools.

Removes provisions requiring "good cause" findings and State Board of Education waivers for earlier opening dates in Guilford County.

Applies only to Guilford County school administrative unit and becomes effective beginning with the 2015-2016 school year.
