Removes state-imposed opening and closing date restrictions for Person County Schools, allowing the local board of education to determine school calendar dates with greater flexibility.

Eliminates the requirement that school opening dates be no earlier than the Monday closest to August 26 and closing dates be no later than the Friday closest to June 11 for Person County.

Eliminates provisions allowing the State Board of Education to waive opening date requirements or grant exceptions based on "good cause" (severe weather, energy shortages, or emergencies).

Applies only to Person County Schools and becomes effective for the 2015-2016 school year.
