Repeals G.S. 47-36.1 regarding procedures for correcting errors in recorded instruments.

Creates new G.S. 47-36.2 establishing a corrective affidavit process for fixing obvious description errors, typographical errors, or other minor errors in recorded deeds, deeds of trust, mortgages, and other instruments.

Defines "corrective affidavit" as an affidavit executed by a licensed attorney to correct errors in recorded instruments.

Defines "obvious description error" as an error in the legal description of real property where the subject parcel is properly identified and shown on a recorded subdivision plat.

Becomes effective October 1, 2015, and applies to corrective affidavits filed on or after that date.
