Department of Transportation shall defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Wilmington Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization against claims arising from the organization's adoption, filing, or amendment of transportation corridor official maps.

Wilmington Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization added as an entity authorized to adopt or amend transportation corridor official maps for Department projects R-3300 and U-4751.

Director of Wilmington Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization shall be notified within 10 days of submittals for corridor map determinations, consistent with notification requirements for other transportation authorities.

Wilmington Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization added to provisions governing petitions for variance from building permit restrictions and advance property acquisition due to hardship.

Subsection (g) regarding Department indemnification is effective upon enactment and applies retroactively to maps filed, adopted, or amended before that date; remaining provisions apply to maps filed, adopted, or amended before, on, or after enactment.
