NC S675

Adds new subsection (5) to G.S. 15A-1371(b) requiring the Parole Commission to review cases of inmates convicted of sexually violent offenses as defined in G.S. 14-208.6(5) at least once every two years rather than annually.

Maintains discretionary authority for the Parole Commission to grant more frequent parole consideration if exigent circumstances or the interests of justice demand it.

Applies to parole reviews conducted on or after October 1, 2015.

Ratified on August 24, 2015, and approved by Governor Pat McCrory on August 25, 2015.
