Department of Environmental Quality must study the effectiveness of nutrient management strategies, including in situ mitigation, for protecting and improving water quality in federally-defined impaired water bodies.

Study must evaluate whether nutrient management strategies will be effective for protecting or improving overall water quality for impaired water bodies.

Department must report findings and recommendations to the Environmental Review Commission no later than December 1, 2016.

Act becomes effective upon enactment into law.
