Amends G.S. 1-117 to update the cross-index reference for notices of pending litigation from G.S. 2-42(6) to G.S. 7A-109, reflecting changes in how the clerk of superior court maintains the Record of Lis Pendens.

Reduces the membership of the Commission from 39 to 38 members in G.S. 143B-394.15(c) by removing the separate ex officio position for the Secretary of the Department of Public Safety.

Removes the title "Department of" from references to the Secretary of Administration and the Secretary of Health and Human Services in the Commission's ex officio membership list.

Renumbers subsequent ex officio positions to account for the deletion of the Secretary of the Department of Public Safety position.

Becomes effective upon enactment.
