Division of Adult Correction shall establish a pilot project providing computer tablets to adult offenders and juveniles who are in good standing and within two years of their projected release date.

Tablets may be used for continuing education classes, vocational classes, parenting classes, domestic violence/anger management classes, and other Division-approved programs.

Division of Adult Correction will determine which databases are accessible from the tablets and will select one or more State correctional institutions, youth development centers, and residential treatment facilities to implement the project.

Division shall report results of the pilot project to the 2019 Regular Session of the General Assembly upon reconvening.

General Fund appropriation of $1,000 in nonrecurring funds provided to the Department of Public Safety for pilot project implementation during the 2016-2017 fiscal year.
