H1057 - Red Springs Charter Amendment

• Changes commissioner terms from two years to four years in the Town of Red Springs charter.

• Establishes the mayor's term as two years, elected separately from commissioners.

• Authorizes the board of commissioners to set its own compensation and the mayor's compensation under G.S. 160A-64, replacing fixed salaries of $200 for mayor and $25 per commissioner.

• Removes the restriction that salary ordinances cannot take effect during the current term of office.

• Updates charter language regarding qualifications for office to reference Article VI of the North Carolina Constitution.
