Recognizes the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the State of Israel on May 14, 1948, and reaffirms North Carolina's support for Israel as it pursues peace with its neighbors.

Commends Israel's achievements in building a democratic society and pluralistic nation despite facing terrorism, and encourages increased trade and cooperation in economic, scientific, cultural, and educational areas between North Carolina and Israel.

Notes Israel's accomplishments including 12 Nobel Prize winners, leadership in high-tech industry, and innovations in agriculture, medicine, renewable energy, and humanitarian disaster response.

Recognizes North Carolina's $2.2 billion in exports to Israel since 1996, with over $150 million in 2017.

Honors the memory of Shimon Peres and directs the Principal Clerk to transmit the resolution to Jewish Federations in North Carolina and Peres's family.
