Adds new grounds for setting aside bail bond forfeiture when a defendant was in custody of the Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice or Federal Bureau of Prisons within North Carolina at any time between failure to appear and final judgment, evidenced by official court records or custody documents.

Removes the phrase "and none other" from G.S. 15A-544.8(b) to allow courts discretion in granting relief from final forfeiture judgments beyond the two explicitly listed reasons.

Retains existing grounds for forfeiture relief: lack of proper notice and other extraordinary circumstances as determined by court discretion.

Effective upon enactment on June 15, 2018.
