Updates the definition of physical therapy in G.S. 90-270.24(4) to allow physical therapists to perform spinal manipulation without requiring a prescription from a physician licensed to practice medicine in North Carolina.

Removes the restriction that previously limited spinal manipulation by physical therapists only when prescribed by a licensed medical doctor.

Maintains all other limitations on physical therapy practice, including prohibitions on application of roentgen rays, radioactive materials, surgery, and medical diagnosis of disease.

Becomes effective October 1, 2017.
