Removes restrictions on school opening and closing dates for Alamance-Burlington Schools, eliminating the requirement that opening dates be no earlier than the Monday closest to August 26 and closing dates be no later than the Friday closest to June 11.

Eliminates the "good cause" waiver provision that previously allowed the State Board of Education to authorize earlier opening dates (Monday closest to August 19) based on weather closures in prior years.

Removes the exemption for schools operating under modified calendars, making the calendar flexibility apply uniformly across Alamance-Burlington Schools.

Applies only to Alamance-Burlington Schools as a local measure.

Effective when signed into law, beginning with the 2017-2018 school year.
