Removes restrictions on school opening and closing dates for Rutherford County Schools, allowing local boards greater flexibility in calendar planning.

Eliminates the requirement that opening dates be no earlier than the Monday closest to August 26 and closing dates be no later than the Friday closest to June 11.

Removes the "good cause" waiver provision that previously allowed the State Board of Education to approve earlier opening dates under specific conditions.

Eliminates exemptions for modified calendar schools that were designated in the 2003-2004 school year.

Applies only to Rutherford County Schools, effective beginning with the 2017-2018 school year.
