Removes restrictions on school opening and closing dates for Caldwell County Schools, previously requiring opening no earlier than Monday closest to August 26 and closing no later than Friday closest to June 11.

Eliminates the "good cause" waiver process that allowed the State Board of Education to approve earlier opening dates (Monday closest to August 19) based on historical weather closures.

Removes the exemption for modified calendar schools that had been designated as such during the 2003-2004 school year.

Applies only to Caldwell County Schools and becomes effective for the 2017-2018 school year.
