Removes the requirement that Alleghany County Schools, Ashe County Schools, and Wilkes County Schools must open no earlier than the Monday closest to August 26 and close no later than the Friday closest to June 11.

Allows these three school systems to align their opening and closing dates with Wilkes Community College's fall and spring semesters.

Enables high school students enrolled in dual-enrollment courses at Wilkes Community College to synchronize their academic calendars with the college.

Intended to help these school systems and the college better meet workforce development needs in Alleghany, Ashe, and Wilkes counties.

Effective for the 2017-2018 academic year and beyond.
