Removes restrictions on school opening and closing dates for Cumberland County Schools, allowing greater flexibility in calendar adoption.

Eliminates the requirement that opening dates be no earlier than the Monday closest to August 26 and closing dates no later than the Friday closest to June 11.

Removes the "good cause" waiver provision that previously allowed the State Board of Education to approve earlier opening dates only under specific conditions of excessive school closures.

Eliminates the exemption for modified calendar schools that was previously limited to those designated in the 2003-2004 school year.

Effective immediately upon enactment and applies beginning with the 2017-2018 school year.
