Allows Davie County Schools to set school opening and closing dates independently without state-mandated restrictions that previously required opening no earlier than the Monday closest to August 26 and closing no later than the Friday closest to June 11.

Enables Davie County Schools to align their school calendar with Davidson County Community College's fall and spring semesters to benefit dual-enrolled students.

Removes the requirement for Davie County Schools to follow standard calendar restrictions, allowing greater local flexibility in scheduling.

Effective beginning with the 2017-2018 academic year and applies only to Davie County Schools.
