Removes restrictions on school opening and closing dates for Iredell-Statesville Schools and Mooresville Graded School District.

Eliminates the requirement that opening dates be no earlier than the Monday closest to August 26 and closing dates be no later than the Friday closest to June 11 for these two school districts.

Removes provisions allowing the State Board of Education to grant waivers for early opening dates based on "good cause" (eight days of closures per year over any four of the last 10 years).

Removes exemptions for schools operating under modified calendars since 2003-2004 school year.

Applies only to Iredell-Statesville Schools and Mooresville Graded School District, effective for the 2017-2018 school year and beyond.
