Removes the mandatory opening date requirement of no earlier than the Monday closest to August 26 for Chatham County Schools, allowing greater flexibility in setting school calendar dates.

Eliminates the restriction that closing dates must be no later than the Friday closest to June 11 for Chatham County Schools.

Removes the "good cause" waiver provision that previously allowed the State Board of Education to grant exceptions to opening date requirements.

Applies only to Chatham County Schools and becomes effective beginning with the 2017-2018 school year.
