Authorizes the Dare County Board of County Commissioners to call an election in the Hatteras voting precinct to allow voters to expand the uses of ad valorem tax funds for the Hatteras Village Community Center District.

The expanded tax use would include funding the construction and maintenance of multiuse pathways around the village of Hatteras, in addition to the existing community center maintenance and operations.

Election to be conducted by the Dare County Board of Elections in accordance with Chapter 163 of the General Statutes, with results certified to the County Commissioners and spread upon their meeting minutes.

Ballot shall present voters with two options to vote for or against expanding the ad valorem tax uses to include the multiuse pathways funding.

Amendments to Chapter 212 of the Session Laws of 1981 become effective only if a majority of voters approve the expanded tax use in the election.
