Adds probation/parole officers employed by the Division of Adult Correction to the definition of "Law-Enforcement Officer" under the Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System for service rendered on or after July 1, 2017.

Defines "Probation/Parole Officer" as full-time paid employees of the Division of Adult Correction whose duties include supervising, evaluating, or instructing offenders on probation, parole, post-release supervision, or community-based programs.

Allows probation/parole officer service to count toward the 50% law enforcement service requirement needed for enhanced retirement benefits under G.S. 143-166.41(b).

Effective July 1, 2017, and applies to persons retiring on or after that date.
