• Requires plats to include coordinates labeled as "X" (easting) and "Y" (northing) traceable to published geodetic datum or North Carolina State Plane Coordinate System, with specified horizontal datum and realization information.

• Updates plat title information requirements to include surveyor firm name and license number, and adds requirement to show dates and descriptions of revisions made after original signing.

• Repeals Article 5A of Chapter 39 of the General Statutes relating to control corners.

• Becomes effective July 1, 2017, applying to all plats and subdivisions submitted for recording on or after that date.
