Removes the requirement that Stanly County Schools' opening date be no earlier than the Monday closest to August 26 and closing date be no later than the Friday closest to June 11.

Eliminates the "good cause" waiver provision that previously allowed early opening dates only under specific weather-related closure conditions.

Removes restrictions on modified calendar schools that were designated as such in the 2003-2004 school year.

Allows Stanly County Board of Education greater flexibility in setting school calendar dates while maintaining compliance with state instructional day and time requirements.

Effective beginning with the 2017-2018 school year and applies only to Stanly County Schools.
