Extends the statute of limitations for civil actions involving child sexual abuse, allowing plaintiffs to file until age 40 instead of earlier deadlines.

Adds new subsection G.S. 1-17(d) establishing that plaintiffs may sue for sexual abuse suffered before age 18 until reaching age 40, notwithstanding other time limits.

Modifies G.S. 1-52 and G.S. 1-56 to reference the new extended statute of limitations, exempting child sexual abuse cases from standard three-year and ten-year limitation periods.

Creates a one-year revival window from October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2018, allowing previously time-barred civil actions for child sexual abuse to be refiled.

Effective October 1, 2017, applying to civil actions commenced on or after that date.
