Creates new criminal offense of maliciously setting traps in public parks designed to injure people, including guns with trip wires, sharpened stakes, electrical devices, and toxic gas devices.

Setting a trap in a public park with intent to injure is a Class A1 misdemeanor; includes aiding or procuring someone else to set such a trap.

Enhanced to Class H felony if the trap inflicts physical injury and Class E felony if it inflicts serious injury on another person.

Offense elevated one class higher if the trap was camouflaged or concealed, with Class A1 misdemeanor elevated to Class I felony under this provision.

Becomes effective December 1, 2017, and applies to offenses committed on or after that date.
