Authorizes municipalities to enforce state law provisions regarding political signs on rights-of-way of state highway system portions located within municipal corporate limits.

Permits municipalities to remove political signs that violate state law requirements on both municipally-maintained streets and state highway system portions within their boundaries.

Clarifies existing municipal authority under Article 8 of Chapter 160A of the General Statutes to regulate political signage placement.

Applies to municipalities that have not adopted their own ordinances prohibiting or regulating political signs, allowing enforcement of subsections (b) through (e) of G.S. 136-32.

Effective upon becoming law.
