Establishes the North Carolina Beehive Grant Fund as a special fund in the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to encourage the establishment of new beehives in the State.

Eligible beekeepers must be North Carolina residents at least 18 years old and certified by the North Carolina State Beekeepers Association at the time of application.

Grants cover the purchase of new hives or materials/supplies for hive construction, limited to $200 per new hive with a maximum of $2,400 per recipient annually.

Department may establish a reasonable fee for grant applicants to cover review and processing costs; grants are issued in order of completed application receipt.

Takes effect July 1, 2017.
