Provides $3,500 bonus substitute to third-grade teachers who remained at the same school and would have qualified for bonuses under S.L. 2016-94 Section 9.7(a) except for a previous restriction, unless they refused to continue teaching third grade.

Provides bonus substitute equal to the amount teachers would have received under S.L. 2016-94 Section 8.8(a) to those who remained at the same school and would have qualified except for a previous restriction, unless they refused to continue teaching the advanced course.

Authorizes the Department of Public Instruction to reimburse local school administrative units up to $3,500 for amounts they paid in lieu of third-grade bonuses and up to $2,000 for amounts paid in lieu of advanced course bonuses.

Directs the State Board of Education to use existing 2016-2017 fiscal year funds to pay the bonus substitutes and reimbursements required by the act.

Becomes effective upon enactment.
