Requires regular school bus drivers employed by local boards of education to complete and maintain CPR training certifications.

School bus drivers taking CPR courses at North Carolina community colleges shall have tuition and fees waived through G.S. 115D-5(b)(10).

Local boards of education must compensate school bus drivers for time spent completing CPR training courses, whether through community colleges or other providers.

Appropriates $1,100,000 from General Fund to Community Colleges System Office for 2017-2018 fiscal year to cover tuition and fee waivers for CPR training.

Appropriates $1,300,000 in recurring funds from General Fund to Department of Public Instruction for 2017-2018 fiscal year to compensate school bus drivers for CPR training time, with all regular drivers required to complete initial training by 2018-2019 school year.
