Appropriates $125,000 for fiscal year 2017-2018 and $125,000 for fiscal year 2017-2018 to the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse Services.

Provides grant funds to the North Carolina Association of People Supporting Employment First (NCAPSE) to develop and implement training programs on evidence-based supported employment services.

Training programs target individuals with serious mental illness at risk of adult care home placement and individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities to help them prepare for, obtain, and maintain competitive integrated employment.

Department shall make training programs available statewide to employers, service providers of local management entities/managed care organizations, and other entities to improve employment outcomes.

Becomes effective July 1, 2017.
