Requires municipal police agency telecommunicators to meet all training and certification requirements for telecommunicators established by the North Carolina Justice and Fire Education and Training Standards Commission, effective July 1, 2020.

Exempts telecommunicators employed before the effective date from having to meet new entry-level requirements as a condition of continued employment, but they must still be reported to the Commission for certification.

Applies existing compliance standards to telecommunicators, including retention of certification requirements under G.S. 17E-4(a).

Allows the Commission to issue certificates to applicants from other jurisdictions who demonstrate satisfactory completion of equivalent training programs or courses of instruction.
