House Resolution honoring the North Carolina State Highway Patrol on its 89th anniversary, established by legislation enacted March 18, 1929, with the first training class beginning May 20, 1929.

Recognizes the State Highway Patrol's mission to enforce motor vehicle laws and reduce collisions on North Carolina's 78,000 miles of highways over nearly 9 decades of service.

Pays tribute to more than 60 State Highway Patrol officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty, including Trooper Samuel N. Bullard, killed on May 21, 2018, in a vehicle collision during a pursuit in Yadkin County.

Acknowledges the current force of more than 1,600 officers and over 600 civilians who serve the citizens of North Carolina despite the dangers they encounter.
