Senate Bill 338 - Disaster Recovery Act of 2017

• Allocates $100 million in Supplemental Disaster Recovery Funds for recovery from Hurricane Matthew, western wildfires, and Tropical Storms Julia and Hermine across affected North Carolina counties.

• Directs $25 million to housing assistance including repairs for low- to moderate-income homes, housing elevation and acquisition, temporary housing, and flood insurance subsidies.

• Allocates $30 million to Golden L.E.A.F. for infrastructure grants to local governments and nonprofits for repair, replacement, and hazard mitigation projects.

• Provides $20 million to the Department of Agriculture for stream debris removal, farm road repairs, and farm pond and dam repairs, with up to $1 million available for drought relief in 20 western counties.

• Establishes $2.7 million for community college budget stabilization, $22.3 million for federal disaster assistance matching funds, and $5 million for a 30-35 unit affordable housing complex in Fair Bluff.
