Senate Bill 347 Summary

• Adds numerous synthetic fentanyl derivatives to Schedule I controlled substances, including furanyl fentanyl, butyryl fentanyl, acrylfentanyl, valeryl fentanyl, and various fluorinated fentanyl compounds.

• Expands Schedule I to include synthetic cannabinoids through broad structural classifications (naphthoylindoles, benzoylindoles, indole/indazole carboxaldehydes and carboxamides) and designer hallucinogens (BTCP, deschloroketamine, 3-MeO-PCP, various tryptamine derivatives).

• Adds system depressants etizolam and flubromazepam to Schedule I, and moves buprenorphine from Schedule IV to Schedule III.

• Adds anabolic steroids boldione, desoxymethyltesterone, methasterone, and 19-nor-4,9(10)-androstadienedione to Schedule III.

• Adds depressants carisoprodol, dichloralphenazone, fospropol, tramadol, and zopiclone to Schedule IV; adds depressants ezogabine and lacosamide to Schedule V; and repeals Schedule V provisions related to difenoxin.

• Takes effect December 1, 2017 for offenses committed on or after that date.
