Appropriates $308,000 for fiscal year 2017-2018 and $308,000 for fiscal year 2018-2019 to the Department of Public Instruction for a two-year pilot program.

Funds directed to Children and Parent Resource Group, Inc., to administer the Life Changing Experiences Community Education Project for students in grades 6-11 in Pitt County Schools, Wayne County Schools, and Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools.

Program delivers traveling multimedia educational assemblies and follow-up activities addressing teen issues including alcohol and drug abuse, dangerous driving, environmental endangerment, violence, and bullying.

Project teaches students techniques and skills to establish positive life goals, adopt positive behaviors, and create businesses and social enterprises.

Requires initial report by March 1, 2018, and final report by March 1, 2019, to the Joint Legislative Education Oversight Committee detailing expenditures and student outcome data.
