Allows individuals age 65 and older to audit up to 6 undergraduate credit hours per semester at UNC constituent institutions, provided the class is not full and the faculty member approves.

Allows individuals age 65 and older to audit up to 6 curricular credit hours per semester at community colleges, provided the class is not full and the faculty member approves.

Audit attendance shall not be counted as full-time equivalent student hours for funding purposes.

Requires the UNC Board of Governors and State Board of Community Colleges to adopt policies implementing these audit provisions.

Effective July 1, 2017, applying to the 2018 fall academic semester and all subsequent semesters.
