Limits disclosure of sworn law enforcement officer personnel information to only the list of names of current employees, with narrow exceptions for safety purposes.

Protects residence information, emergency contact information, and identifying information (as defined in G.S. 14-113.20) from disclosure in personnel files unless required by G.S. 132-1.4, G.S. 132-1.10, or necessary for personal safety.

Exempts mobile telephone numbers issued by government to law enforcement officers, nonsworn law enforcement employees, and emergency responders from public records disclosure unless the employee consents to disclosure.

Applies protections to both municipal employees (G.S. 160A-168) and county employees (G.S. 153A-98) who are sworn law enforcement officers.

Becomes effective upon enactment.
