NC S54

Amends the definition of "Final Average Salary" in the Charlotte Firefighters' Retirement System to allow calculation based on the higher of two methods: the highest two consecutive plan years in the member's last five years of service, or the 104 weeks preceding the end of membership service.

Includes payments for unused sick and vacation days as compensation for Final Average Salary calculations, limited to amounts that could have accrued during two plan years of the member's last five years of service.

Includes longevity payments as compensation for Final Average Salary calculations to the extent such payments were made during two plan years of the member's last five years of service.

Applies only to the City of Charlotte.

Becomes effective July 1, 2017.
