Requires high schools to administer a civics test identical to the civics portion of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services naturalization test as a requirement for passing civics courses.

Students must score at least 60% on the test to pass, with unlimited retake opportunities until a passing score is achieved.

Passing the naturalization test requirement must be documented on students' transcripts, with exceptions permitted for students with individualized education programs.

Applies to both traditional public high schools and charter schools serving grades 9-12, effective for students entering ninth grade in the 2017-2018 school year.

Charter schools must administer either the naturalization civics test or a state-administered equivalent test as a requirement for graduation.
