Clerk of superior court must retain names and addresses of persons requesting excusal from jury duty based on disqualification under G.S. 9-3 for not less than two years from the date of excusal.

Records of excusals based on disqualification are non-public records under G.S. 132-1.

Records of persons excused for reasons relating to voter qualifications under G.S. 163-55 are public records and must be provided by the clerk to the State Board of Elections for purposes listed in G.S. 163-82.14.

Judges must inform the clerk of superior court of persons excused, and the clerk shall maintain a separate record of excuses in accordance with the new requirements in G.S. 9-6.2.

Administrative Office of the Courts must amend Rules of Recordkeeping to include procedures for implementing these provisions, effective January 1, 2018.
