S624 - Outdoor Heritage Enhanced

• Expands Sunday hunting with firearms to allow hunting of wild animals and upland game birds on private landowner property and public State hunting lands, subject to Wildlife Resources Commission rules.

• Permits hunting of migratory birds on Sunday for the first time on private lands, public lands, and public waters of the State, subject to commission rules.

• Removes the blanket prohibition on hunting between 9:30 A.M. and 12:30 P.M. on Sundays, except within 500 yards of places of worship, accessory structures, or residences during those hours.

• Removes the prior prohibition on Sunday hunting in counties with populations greater than 700,000 people.

• Maintains prohibitions on using firearms to take deer being run or chased by dogs on Sunday and requires the Wildlife Resources Commission to adopt permanent rules regulating migratory bird hunting on Sunday.
