S708 - Recognition of N.C. A&T Football Championship

• Recognizes North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University for its academic achievements and athletic accomplishments, including ranking No. 1 nationally in undergraduate engineering degrees awarded to African-Americans and No. 2 among public HBCUs by U.S. News & World Report.

• Congratulates the N.C. A&T Aggies football team on completing a perfect 12-0 undefeated season and winning the 2017 Celebration Bowl (HBCU national championship) with a 21-14 victory over Grambling State University on December 16, 2017.

• Acknowledges the 2017 football team and Head Coach Rod Broadway, recognizing that this was the first undefeated season for N.C. A&T as a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) and Broadway's fourth HBCU national championship.

• Directs the Secretary of State to transmit a certified copy of the resolution to Chancellor Harold L. Martin Sr., Athletics Director Earl Hilton III, current Head Coach Sam Washington, and retired Head Coach Rod Broadway.
