Allows local boards of education in Iredell-Statesville Schools and Mooresville Graded School District to align their school calendars with community college calendars serving their counties, notwithstanding state opening and closing date requirements.

Permits these two Iredell County school districts to start school no earlier than the Monday closest to August 19 (one week earlier than the standard August 26 date) with approval for calendar alignment purposes.

Applies only to Iredell-Statesville Schools and the Mooresville Graded School District, making this a local measure specific to Iredell County.

Becomes effective upon enactment and applies beginning with the 2019-2020 school year.
