Appropriates $75,000 in nonrecurring funds from the General Fund to the Department of Public Instruction for fiscal year 2020-2021 to support the North Carolina Teacher Cadet Program through the Carolina Foundation for Public School Children.

Funds shall support statewide curriculum training workshops for teachers with in-person and online options, expansion of services in Tier 1 counties, and development of training for underrepresented teaching demographics including male cadets and cadets of color.

Training for underrepresented demographics shall utilize past and current cadets who are classroom teachers, postsecondary education students, and high school seniors as resources to the extent possible.

Act becomes effective July 1, 2020, and incorporates the State Budget Act by reference while maintaining consistency with other 2019 Regular Session appropriations legislation.
